Profile

I have a diverse project background in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Education, Advanced Technology and a specific passion for Design-Build. Having most recently completed a $20M Design-Build Healthcare project, that was on time, on schedule, on budget and with zero defects; I realize how design-build can benefit every member of the project team. The idea of bringing together the Architect, Engineers, Contractors and Owners for a shared vision, coupled with the power of technologies such as BIM puts this industry on the edge of a powerful transformation that will enable projects to be completed quicker, with a higher standard of quality and ideally with an enhanced design.

With 20 years of experience in both Architecture and Construction Management, I have an ability to marry the two together to help clients take their vision from the conceptual stage to completion quicker, more efficiently, and while effectively controlling cost and leading the team to achieve the desired results.

I have successfully led teams from 2 to 20, participated and facilitated design charrette's, construction project status and planning meetings, and conducted numerous contract negotiations with project Owner's, Architect's and Subcontractors. I have accomplished experience with cost control on projects ranging from $100K to more than $70M, posting measurable results and in many cases savings back to the clients.

Using target milestones, I have delivered projects on time and understand the critical activities during pre-construction for the designers and also what is required to start construction.  Communication and collaboration are critical; and maintaining a realistic and effective schedule is the key to achieving on-time results and critical to understanding project costs.

Enhancing our built environment can be defined many ways, but one stands out ever more prominently in our industry.  As a member of USGBC and a LEED AP BD+C professional, I am encouraged that the design and construction industry, and the adoption of CAL Green is making environmentally conscious design and construction a standard and not an option.

As a member of the community, I believe that it is everyone's responsibility to participate in some way that contributes back to the community.  I embrace this value and it is one that I try to share with project teams.  Please reference the community service tab to see those organizations that I have been lucky to be involved with.

I hope that you will take a moment to look at my project experience, my references and background and contact me if there is a way that I may contribute to your organization.

Thank you,
