With over 20 years experience in the design and construction industry, I have acquired a broad portfolio of experience in several core markets of construction. Having started my career working in design, I was able to obtain a fluency in the industry that few are lucky enough to experience.  Then, with the last 17 years working for a large Commercial General Contractor, I have acquired a broad based field experience managing projects from conception to keys; implementing project controls, construction and value engineering reviews and developing a plan for project execution.

$20M Scripps Radiation Oncology Treatment Center: This Design-Build project consisted of 41,544 sf shell with approximately 25,000 sf interior build-out to house (3) Linear Accelerators, (1) CT Sim, Exam rooms, offices, patient education room and a two story lobby with an open staircase. San Diego, CA

$14M Cambridge Physicians Medical Center: This 150,000 sf building included 50,000 sf of below grade parking and 100,000 sf 4-story shell above grade located across the street from one of San Diego's busiest emergency rooms. San Diego, CA

$775 K Scripps Health Physical Therapy Clinic: A Design-Build project which included the remodel of an existing 5,200 sf tenant space in a new Physical Therapy Suite. Encinitas, CA

$2M St. Joseph Hospital: Remodel of an existing respiratory therapy unit into a new Mother-Baby care unit in Denver's oldest hospital. Denver, CO

$15M Kaiser Santa Theresa Medical Office Building: New ground-up MOB to include exam and treatment rooms in addition to corporate office space. San Jose, CA


Corporate Office
$4.5M DPR Construction / Kleinfelder Inc. San Diego Office: This Design-Build project involved the management of design programming, schematic design and pre-construction, in addition to the management of the construction of a 34,000 sf multi-tenant office building remodel.  The building achieved net zero energy use by incorporating natural ventilation, daylighting, efficient HVAC and lighting systems and renewable energy via the "Sustainable Communities" program.  LEED-NC Platinum certification. San Diego, CA

$10M Jack in the Box Innovation Center: 70,000 sf, 2-story steel framed shell structure and tenant improvement.  This project included test kitchens, R&D labs and office space. San Diego, CA

$1.2M DPR Construction Denver Office: Remodel of an existing tenant space for DPR's corporate office in Denver, CO.

$150K Oracle Tenant Improvement: Remodel of an existing lobby and high-end conference rooms.


Life Sciences
$72M Novartis Institute for Functional Genomics: A 467,000 sf new campus encompassing 16 acres and six buildings; to include a 14,000 sf Vivarium, biology and chemistry labs, corporate office space, a large kitchen and cafeteria, a central plant and a multi-story subterranean garage. San Diego, CA

$15M Novartis Pharmaceuticals: An 80,000 sf chemistry lab building with cold, warm & humidity rooms to facilitate research.  The project also included corporate office space, a central plant and a 4000 sf automated greenhouse. San Diego, CA

$3.4M Novartis Institute of Functional Genomics: 8,000 sf Design-Build Vivarium space. San Diego, CA

$2.4M Pfizer Inc.: 7,700 sf expansion to a functional vivarium. San Diego, CA

$1.4M Project Management Advisors, Inc.: An interior remodel for spec office space and an interior remodel of existing labs for Ligand Pharmaceuticals. San Diego, CA

$6M H.G. Fenton, The Art Institute of California: A 75,000 sf 2-story tenant improvement with a 4 month fast-track schedule, to include classrooms, office space, computer labs and five large teaching kitchens.  San Diego, CA

$13.5M St. Augustine High School: A 127,334 sf renovation including demolition of existing site improvements and two existing buildings.  New site improvements, a new 2-story classroom building, a new 3-story classroom building, administrative, library building totally 39,734 sf.  The project included a new 35,426 sf subterranean parking garage and a 1300 sf connecting breezeway.  San Diego, CA

$500K Education Management Corporation, The Art Institute of California, CA Culinary School Skills Kitchen: Remodel of 1,200 sf of existing office space to a new skills & baking kitchen, including over 35 LF of kitchen hoods with 6 ranges and an integrated Ansul Fire System and IntelliLink Controls connecting the hoods to the HVAC system. San Diego, CA

$2.5M Education Management Corporation, The Art Institute of California: A 25,635 sf of new office and classroom space.  Additionally, a state of the art audio recording studio with high end acoustical finishes was build, isolated from the building structure to prevent the transfer of vibration to the studio.  San Diego, CA

$1.2M Argosy University: 14,000 sf of classrooms, office space, a student lounge and main lobby.  San Diego, CA

$500K Education Management Corporation, The Art Institute of California: Remodel of existing computer labs and administrative areas in a operating facility.  San Diego, CA

$1.9M Brown Mackie University: New tenant improvements to include classrooms, computer labs, art labs, medical labs and a 5000 sf industrial design facility (wood & metal shop).  Included also were new exterior paint booths.  Santa Ana, CA

$1.5M Education Management Corporation, Argosy University: A 34,000 sf expansion / tenant improvements including the split of two buildings, office spaces and classrooms.  Santa Ana, CA

 

Justice / Detention
$36M East Mesa Re-Entry Facility, a (6) building addition to an occupied mens detention facility, adding (2) dormitory-style inmate housing units with a CSA-rated capacity of 400 beds, an administration building, a staff and in-take facility and a visitation and release facility.  Additionally, renovations in the existing control building to upgrade the campus-wide security electronics, provisions for new equipment in the existing kitchen and a new auxilliary central plant were addedThe project is tracking LEED Silver certification.

Entertainment

$10M Century Theatres 16 screen Stadium Cinema, a 66,000 sf stadium-seating cinema.  The fast track nine month schedule involved the completion of this 3,000 seat, 16 screen cinema, video arcade, projection mezzanine and expansive 2-story lobby and certification of THX sound systems.  Aurora, CO

$375M White Oak Semiconductor Fabrication Plant, including a central plant, extensive site improvements, administration & commons buildings, and tool hook-up.  Richmond, VA
